Lourdes took her first and only art class when she was in the third grade. After that she taught herself how to draw. In middle school she designed the t-shirts for the volleyball team. Lourdes has always loved art and fashion. She decided to get her Bachelor’s degree in Clothing, Textiles and Fashion Merchandising. She also received her Associates degree in Liberal Arts.
Lourdes has always been talented in drawing. But she also loves to practice yoga. She is a certified 200 hour yoga teacher. For many years she tried blogging about clothing and home decor but that interest fizzled after a while. She realized that she would rather have a capsule wardrobe filled with classic timeless pieces. As for home decor she realized that she would rather display family heirlooms as opposed to buying new decor every season.
One day while at her mom’s house she saw a piece of art she created a few decades ago. She drew an Aztec Princess on a flower pot. She took it home without her mother knowing. And a few days later she had an “aha” moment. She realized that she can just draw. It had been a few years since she had drawn every single day and she decided to just go for it. After a week of drawing everyday she decided to mesh together her two passions art and yoga and she started to draw yoga poses inspired by some yogi’s she likes to follow on social media.
Being a self-taught artist makes Lourdes want to become better as an illustrator, and she also wants to share her talent with the world. Being a full time mom, she is happy that she finally found a way to work from home doing something that brings much joy while taking care of her two children, Nicolas and Genesis.
